Our original fairytale is back from the dead…

the Oregon Book Award-nominated

From a Hole in the Ground

by Ken Yoshikawa

originally commissioned and produced by Corrib Theatre

Sept 27 - Oct 5 at Northwest Children’s Theatre

After a wildly popular run in Spring 2024, we’re bringing back our original cast to remount this dynamic rendering of Irish folklore!

From a Hole in the Ground is an original fairytale inspired by Irish folklore. In this whimsical story, two mischievous Irish fairies must convince a young girl to help them restore the balance of nature when a generational curse threatens to halt the turning of the seasons. The fairies confront a ghostly revenant, a shape-shifting Púca, a river goddess, pesky human beings, and even death itself to complete their quest.

We’r thrilled to collaborate with Northwest Children's Theatre's brilliant TYA staff in their stunning building to remount this delightful play for young audiences and bring a piece of Irish folklore to families in Portland.
